Happy days, you have done your homework, found the right breeder who is going to help you settle puppy in with lots of advice (we are here for our owners for life), you know what feed puppy is on, how many meals a day, you have registered puppy at your local vets, and booked puppy's first vaccinations, bought lots of beds and toys and can't wait for pick up date!
Here are some things that you will need before pupster comes home;
Crate (as big as you can manage as puppy will grow fast!) Vet bed Collar and lead or harness Water and feed bowls Clicker training kit (more on this later) Toys, these must be unbreakable and robust. Stairgates Food (we use frozen but you must have what your puppy is used to or you will upset his tummy) Training pads or newspapers Poo bags and holder
So all you need for pick up is a large towel and someone to drive you. If you have to go alone then the next best thing we suggest is a soft puppy carrier that can go next to you but must be secured by law. Don't for get to arrange with your breeder whether you are to bring cash or transfer the balance before pick up!
Things you can expect on pick up are;
1 Puppy!
2 Kennel Club registration forms which you will need to transfer to your name
3 Microchip information, as above, transfer asap
4 Diet sheet (we supply free vouchers for our new owners) and free food to get you started
5 Breeder contract if your puppy is KC registered
6 A small piece of bedding to make puppy feel familiar
7 Your breeder will give you a cover note for 6 weeks free insurance
Next blog will be Puppy Training!
