Travelling home and settling in

So the big day has arrived! You've picked up puppy and all necessary paperwork from your breeder. (See previous blog)

Hopefully pup is safe in a crate in the car with someone next to him/her, as all dogs must be secured in a vehicle. A nice towel underneath just in case of travel sickness or calls of nature though most likely puppy will sleep all the way home. if you are travelling alone make sure you can lay a hand on puppy or they can sniff your hand through the carrier to settle him/her.

As soon as you get home carry him/her to the garden (which has hopefully been secured) and wander about until he/she does a wee. At this point choose an appropriate word to match the action, repeat the word whilst the action is being completed every time and you will be training puppy, yay!
